Kano Pillars will depart the country for the second round, first leg tie of the Caf Champions League against Moroccan’s Moghreb Tetouane on Tuesday night.

The Nigerian representatives had their second round, first leg game in Morroco earlier scheduled for March 14 postponed by Caf by a week following an armed robbery attack that left five key players injured on March 5.

Confirming to Goal, vice chairman of the team’s Continental Committee Ibrahim Galadima, said the Kano outfit are scheduled to fly abroad via an Egypt Airway from Kano before connecting to Casablanca after a brief stop over in Cairo at midnight of Tuesday.

Galadima, who is a one-time NFF president, said the committee’s decision for team’s early departure was to enable the reigning champions adapt well to the harsh weather in Morocco ahead of the crucial continental duel.

“The players and the members of the coaching crew will leave the country this night at about 12am for Morocco on an Egyptian Airline to connect to Casablanca,” Galadima told Goal.

“The continental committee agreed to allow the team depart early acclimatise with the cold weather in Morocco before the game this weekend,” he concluded.
