Former Kogi PDP gubernatorial aspirant and national chairman of the Northern Local Government Chairmen’s Forum (NLGCF), Comrade Mohammed Ali, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja, signed by his media consultant, Abdulrahman Okatahi, Comrade Ali said He defected along with 14 local government chairmen from the state.

“Ali has decided to bow along with 14 Local Government Council chairmen, their ward councillors; 5 Special Advisers; 11 Senior Special Assistants; 25 Special Assistants and the entire democratic structures in the local governments they represent, to high reason and preponderant call of conscience by leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and immediately joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the approaching gubernatorial election in Kogi State on 21st November, 2015.”

According to him, this decision is the inevitable outcome of both intensive soul searching and extensive consultations with stakeholders and political associates, the result of which imposes on him and his colleagues the marching order of destiny that their aspiration of serving their people and Nigeria in general can only be best realised in the APC.

He said it is their belief that the current leadership of the PDP in Kogi State has jettisoned the ideals of the founding fathers of the party “arduously developed and intended to deliver justice, equity and abundant life to the people of Nigeria.”

He stated that he and his colleagues have rightly decided to join the auspicious ride to the sure destination of national prosperity, adding that this development, by all verifiable calculations, will deliver incontestable victory to the APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi State.
