Niger United made a winning start to their campaign in the maiden Prudent Energy Handball Premier League as they defeated Owena Kings 47-23 in the opener day at the Package B, National Stadium, Abuja on Friday.

In an indoor hall clash, Plateau Vipers bowed to Kada Stars 30-20 after Borno Spiders crumbled to Lagos Seasiders by a similar score, while COAS Shooters were humbled 33-27 by Kano Pillars in the late game of the day.

In the female category’s results, Imo Grasshoppers thrashed Katsina Queens 37-10, while Edo Dynamos overpowered Owewa Queens to claim a 33-13 win.

In an Outdoor tie, Seasider Babes crashed 32-22 to Plateau Peacocks before Safety Babes overcame Abia Valiants in the final women’s encounter in the opening day.
