Nigeria captain Vincent Enyeama will undergo a late fitness for Saturday’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo, an official told Goal.

The nominee for BBC and Caf Player of the Year 2014, suffered a slight injury to his shoulder when he recently featured for Lille of France.

The team’s goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmu said Enyeama would pass through a late fitness test to decide if he would be ready for the Super Eagles’ game against the Red Devils.

“I cannot say now if Vincent would be available for Saturday’s game against Congo. I’m not sure if he will be in goal this weekend though we want him,” Shorunmu told Goal.

“He had a little injury on his right shoulder while he was playing for his club, which is still disturbing him. But the team doctors who are already checking has told us it’s not too serious.

“So during training I would confirm if he is good or not and that we decide whether he will be fit to be between the posts against Congo,” he concluded.
