The Technical Committee of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) in collaboration with the Caretaker Committee of the Badminton Umpires Association of Nigeria have finalised arrangement to hold a 3-days training course for new umpires in the country.

The Federation has already requested State Badminton Associations to send 2 nominees that would participate in the training course that will hold from the 2nd to 5th of July, 2018 at the Package B Gymnasium of the Abuja National Stadium.

The decision to organize this training course is in line with the Federations effort to develop capacity in all facets of the game in Nigeria. The response and interest generated by this course across the country has prompted BFN’s decision to have the course in two batches with second batch coming up after the Lagos International Badminton Classics in July 2018. An umpire upgrading course for badged umpires will also be coming up later.
