Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Chairperson, Aisha Falode says the more surprises should be expeced at Nigeria Women Premier League Super Four tournament after the regular season came to an end on Wednesday.
Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels finished first and second respectively in Group A, while Nasarawa Amazons and Delta Queens were the top two teams in Group B.
However, debutantes Heartland Queens and Saadatu Amazons were relegated after final day defeat to FC Robo and Edo Queens respectively.
“The season has ended, we enter another phase; the Super Four – where we will crown our champions,” Falode told media in Lagos.
“It has been an interesting and exciting season, we didn’t record any walkovers. We are looking to start the Super Four during the first week in September, we would unveil the Super Four roadmap next week.
“We might see a surprise in the Super four, we don’t know who has won the league until we play the Super Four.”
Defending champions, Rivers Angels will be aiming for their fourth consecutive league crown when the Super Four kickoffs in September.
