Kogi United Coach, Fatai Osho has reacted angrily to his side’s 2-1 away loss to Kwara United in the Week Two encounter of the Nigeria National League in Ilorin.

Kogi United

Okene-born Aminu Abdulkadir gave Kogi United the lead in the 21st minutes and Samuel Adegbenro level the score for Kwara in the 25th minutes to end the first half with 1-1.

At the 68th minutes of play, centre referee, John Ajogvo awarded what seems like a controversial penalty, and Lateef Adigun converted the resultant spot kick that eventually gave Kwara United the total victory.

Coach Osho however berated the officials with their handling of the game, as calls for stiffer monitoring of the league.

“This is unfortunate, Ranchers came to Lokoja, they didn’t complain.

“This should not be happening in the league we want to develop” my boys were not allowed to play even after they scored their controversial penalty”, Osho said.

The former Remo handler however commended his boys’ discipline and maturity, just as he still expressed confidence in the team ambition to gain premier league ticket.

“Definitely this will not weigh us down. We still have that dream in place and we are focused on it, with God on our side, we will get there.

Kogi United will next play host to Sokoto United on Wednesday in the Week Three of the NNL in Lokoja.
