Flight delay hinders John Obi Mikel, Salisu Yusuf arrival in Uyo for Tanzania clash

Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel and assistant coach Salisu Yusuf are yet join the rest of the Super Eagles team in Uyo for Tanzania clash due to flight delay, SavidNews can exclusively report.

SavidNews understand Mikel and Yusuf were initially billed to leave Abuja on Tuesday morning by 11:45pm via Arik airline, but the duo were still stuck at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport on last check at about 3pm.

It also gathered that no explanation have been offered for the flight delay let alone an announcement of a new departure time for the botched trip as they await at the response at the Airport Lounge.

It looks a season of fight problems, especially with Arik as passengers from Lagos are experience the same trouble.

The Chelsea midfielder had arrived Nigeria on Tuesday morning via the British Airways before he is being held by a flight hitch in Abuja.

New Super Eagles trainer Gernot Rohr, who was stranded in Lagos due to flight delays alongside some invited foreign players have now successfully join the team in Uyo.

The expatriate coach arrived alongside his assistants Everson Ferreira, Jean-Luc Royer, Nabil Trabelsi and Alloy Agu.

Brown Ideye, Victor Osimhen, Imoh Ezekiel, Musa Mohammed, Jamiu Alimi and goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel were the early arrival at the Le Meridien Hotel on Monday.
