Kogi appoints Ex-ABS Founder, Abdul Adama, new administrator for Kogi United, Confluence Queens

Kogi State Government has appointed pioneer founder of Bukola babes FC (now ABS FC)Mallam Abdul Adama as the new administrator for Kogi state-owned clubs.

Until appointment, Mallam Abdul Adama is currently the Special Adviser on Public Private Partnership (PPP) to Governor Idris Wada, governor of Kogi State

Mallam Abdul was the pioneer founder and chairman of Bukola babes FC (now ABS FC), a team he propelled from Amateur to Premiership stage.

The appointment of Mr Abdul to oversee the affairs of both clubs was endorsed following the dissolution of the state-owned clubs’ managements.

The state-owned clubs sponsored by the Kogi state government are Kogi United Football club and Confluence Queens FC of Lokoja.

According to a statement released by Jacob Edi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, the appointment takes immediate effect.

The statement explains that the dissolution became necessary in order to inject life into the two teams for better performance.

The Kogi state governor further directed the state Ministry of Sports to take proper inventory of the two clubs and hand over to the new Sole Administrator immediately.

He charged the new helmsman to evolve a better strategic approach to turn around the fortunes of the two teams by institutionalizing a sustainable structure that will make the two teams the pride of the state in sports and youth development.

The Governor Wada reiterated his determination to uplift sports in the state and urged the people of the state to continue to support the two clubs.

In a related development, Mallam Abdul Adama, the new Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens of Lokoja has confirmed the Editor of SavidNews.com, Samuel Ahmadu as his media assistant.
