Concerted efforts made by his constituents to get Senator Dino Melaye out of the National Assembly has suffered a major setback as the Independent National Electoral Commission has suspended the recall process on Thursday.
In a statement, Adedeji Soyebi, national commissioner of the Commission, disclosed that the decision is in line with a court ruling.
The federal high court, Abuja had last week asked INEC and Melaye to maintain “status quo” pending the determination of a suit filed by Melaye to challenge the process.
However, Soyebi said INEC would appeal the ruling to halt the process of recalling Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west.
