Alas! Its like a new phase of the crisis has just been opened with the revelation by Barrister Leo Iyke Igbokwe that he will be suing FIFA for $10million.

Speaking in Abuja yesterday, Igbokwe said, “FIFA approved the NFF Statutes. They were reported to have written the letter. I appreciate they were misinformed. I have written a petition to correct the anomaly. They have all the facts now. They have the room to correct themselves or we proceed to the next level.

Asked what is the next level, Igbokwe said, “I have gone through all the football structures for arbitration as it is in the Statutes. Now, I may be forced to go to court. FIFA has to defend how they reached the decisions they took whether it is in tandem with the same Statutes they approved for the NFF to follow.”

He added, “can President Jonathan’s Media aide announce the Court of Appeals decision in his Election Appeals matter with General Buhari filed by Buhari against Jonathan’s election? That’s not done. That’s what happened in this my NFF
Election Appeals case where Amaju Pinnick’s media aide, Demola Olajire announced the so called ‘Majority Decision’ of persons who are not lawyers. That’s an insult to lawyers in Nigeria. I will sue FIFA. We are not a lawless nation.
