Nigeria U20 women defeated Moji Queens 9-0 in a friendly at the Fifa Goal Project pitch of the National Stadium, Abuja as they get set for Tanzania clash.
The Falconets scored four goals in each half to demolish the Ilorin based ladies on Saturday and secure a morale boost in preparation for next weekend’s World Cup qualifier.
The test match was the third friendlies for Christopher Danjuma’s side since resuming camp on August 23 after a 2-2 draw and 5-2 win over two Abuja selected teams.
Reviewing their performance, coach Danjuma expressed delight at the commitment and good form of his players, assuring they will be ready in time for the east Africans.
“I’m really impressed so far with the performance and competition within the players,” Danjuma told Goal.
“They are really giving their best and fighting very hard to earn their place in the team. These are good sign for us the coaches.
“I’m not surprised remembering that some of them just concluded the league season with their clubs as they all looks in good shape and good to go.
“We hope to build on the progress with have made in coming days and be fully prepared for Tanzania.”
The Falconets will continue their preparations with two friendly matches lined up against Beautiful Tours and Oyela Queens which will hold on Wednesday and Friday respectively.
