Nigeria Women Premier League 2017 Super Four finalists emerge

Defending champions Rivers Angels, Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons qualified for next month’s Nigeria Women Premier League Super Four tournament billed for Lagos.

The quartet ended their Nigeria’s women topflight campaign occupying the top two spots of the group A and B as the regular season came to an end on Wednesday.

Despite final day 2-0 defeat to Ibom Angels, Bayelsa finished top of group A with 23 points – one head of Rivers after both sealed their qualification before the final day.

In group B, Delta emerged group B winners after crushing Osun Babes 5-1 to edge second-placed Nasarawa Amazons, who earned a 1-0 win over Adamawa Queens on the advantage of most scored goals.

Unfortunately, Heartland Queens were relegated from the elite division after bowing to a 5-0 defeat against FC Robo, the similar fate befell Saadatu Amazon after losing 3-0 to Edo Queens.
