Rivers Angels, Bayela Queens tango in Women Premier League Super Six final

Edwin Okon’s ladies will hope to retain their title when they battle the ladies from Yenegoa in the final of this year Super Six tournament at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Thursday

Reigning champions Rivers Angels will take on Bayelsa Queens in the final of the 2015 Nigeria Women Premier League Super Six tournament in Umuahia on Thursday.

The Port Harcourt Ladies sealed their final spot place with successive 1-0 victory against Nasarawa Amazons and Sunshine respectively, nicking six points to finish top of Group B.

While, Rolandson Odeh’s ladies reach the final after they recorded an opening result of 1-1 draw against Delta Queens, before thrashing Confluence Queens 4-1 to grab four points. The Yenegoa outfit finished ahead of Delta Queens, who also recorded four points, but claimed the top spot on goal advantage.

However, Delta Queens will feature in the third place match after they came from a goal down to win 2-1 against Confluence Queens on Wednesday to finish as runners up in Group A. They will take on Nasarawa Amazons who finished second after a 2-1 late comeback win against Sunshine Queens.

Aside a ceremonial match between newly promoted Abia Angels and Tokas, the third place and the final match will kick off by 2pm and 4pm respectively at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
