Saadatu Amazon 0-2 Osun Babes: Omoluabi ladies shock hosts to grab first away win

Osun Babes secured a back to back win after a comprehensive 2-0 away win over Saadatu Amazon in a Week Seven clash on Wednesday.

The Omoluabi Queens secured their third win of the season through Loveth Okoro’s own goal and Rejoice Ikoyo’s strike to sink the Mai Ikon Allah Girls.

From the start, it was apparent Saadatu Amazon were going to struggle to deal with the dangerous pace of Osun Babes.

Ikoyo went close on two occasions in the opening twenty minutes while Alvin Dahz and Doris Akachukwu failed to capitalise when presented with simple chances to score.

An own goal from under pressure Loveth set Osun Babes on the path to victory in the 54th minute of action.

Saadatu’s Akachukwu has presented the chance to level up from the penalty spot but her shot was expertly saved by goalkeeper Jiwuaku Linda.

The exciting Ikoyo then produced a stunning finish, firing Osun Babes into a two-goal advantage after ghosting past three defenders and goalkeeper Chioma Okoye.

Osun Babes were buoyed by their second goal and moved to kill the tie off but they could only pile the pressure for a short while.

In the end, it proved to be a deserved win for Osun Babes. What this victory will do for the team is raise their confidence as they attempt to mount a resurgence in the second stanza of the top tier division.
