Joy Jegede, who lost her father, was a member of the Falconets at the China 2008 and Germany 2010 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup respectively.
With the Thanksgiving service for the repose of Pa Jegede having passed away who died last year November 23, 2014 after a brief illness, held at the Prince of Life Bible Church, Alagbodaro, Benin City.
Until his death, late PA Jegede was a retired Superntendent of Police.
At the lying-in-state event at the Akugbe Road opposite Uwa Market, members of the football fraternity which includes coach of Falconets’ 2014 U20 World Cup finalist and Delta Queens Peter Dedevbo in attendance alongside her old play mates.
Also present was the chairman adocacy group Save Female Football in Nigeria (SFFN) and Confluence Queens Supporters Club Moses Bako and a member of the 2014 African Women Championship winner Ngozi Okobi with all players and officials of Delta Queens.
Jegede’s mates both in Edo and Delta, various club and national teams officiers, past and present players paid their last respect for the deceased.
Late PA Jegede, 87 years was survived by his two wives, 14 children, 37 grand children and nine great grand children.
