US, Nigerian Journalist Mourns the State of Nigeria Football, Calls For Rethink

Samuel Ahmadu, a news correspondent to Goal.com and the chief News-Editor of Savidnews.com took to his facebook page on Tuesday  the importance of Nigerians motivational point in getting expected success from the Super Falcon’s team in the on-going #Awcon2016 in Cameroon.

His post reads thus:

“Very sad how Nigerians as well Africans do not feel women deserves a chance to making an impact in football, especially their own women’s football. Appalling comments trailing the Super Falcons unconvincing win against South Africa. Even in victory, many shameful TV, armchair critics and social media coaches have rained insults on the Nigerian side. Many of our so-called assessors forgot our team got no motivation for months but want the girls to do miracles on the pitch against a well-prepared and motivated South African since getting a paltry 10,000 naira supposed as transport fare with no bonuses and allowances for qualifying for the ongoing tournament. Unfortunately, nobody seems to care that the team only trained together for a week with no competitive friendly before for the tournament with little or no support from the NFF. I wish we stop being foolish and open our eyes to see where our problems lied and solving it. May God open our eyes. In the meantime, congratulations to the players and coaches who fought with so much determination to reach this stage in making the country proud. #Awcon2016 #SuperFalcons #Nigeria“
