A member of the youth vigilante group, Abba Modu told ThisDay Newspaper in Maiduguri that the terrorists stormed Miringa town in southern part of Borno State about 04:30am on Friday, slitting the throats of 11 of their members who eloped days before.

“They came around 4 am today (Friday) and slit the throats of 11 of their runaway members,” Modu said.

Modu said the villagers were previously living in fear as “they had known that the eleven persons were up to no good.

“Everyone knew in the village that the men who recently came back to settle among them were Boko Haram because they had left long ago and by their appearance and sudden return, the villagers had known they were not safe.”

A resident of the town, Ibrahim Mohammed added about 50 Boko Haram members entered the village to fish the defecting members.
