BREAKING: AFN president, Ibrahim Gusau elected into Confederation of African Athletics committee

Athletics Federation of Nigeria president, Engineer Ibrahim Gusau has been elected into the Confederation of African Athletics.

Gusau won the West African Zone 2 seat to become the president of the zone as well as automatically becomes the vice president of the continental body following the election held in Togo on January 12, 2019.

It will be recall the Engr. Ibrahim Gusau came on board of the AFN as the Vice President between 2009 – 2013 and assume the mantle of leadership as the President of the Federation in 2017.

Engr. Gusau hailed from Zamfara State a PHD holder in electronic Communications Engineer, a retired Director from the NITEL/MTEL, a former Commissioner in Zamfara State and member of Representive at the National Assembly.

He was accompanied to Togo for the elections by his predecessor and current member of the AFN and National Olympic Committee Solomon Ogba.
