Canada okay Super Falcons’ friendly for May 25, to hold behind closed doors

Canada has confirmed her women national team will host the country’s Super Falcons in a women#s international friendly on Monday, May 25 ahead of the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup.

The hosts who returned to their base on Thursday from training tour of Europe, announced the friendly match with Nigeria will be played behind closed doors at the Tim Hortons Field in Hamiton.

The North Americans will later take on England in a sold-out friendly match before heading to Edmonton ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup opening match on June 6 against China PR.

Hosts will play China PR at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium before they face New Zealand at the same venue on June 11 and later the Netherlands in Montreal on June 15.

While for African representatives, Nigeria have been drawn in Group D alongside two-time winners USA, Sweden and Australia.
