Crime: Kogi vows to curb highway robbery incidences

wadaKogi State Government says it has put in place proactive security measures geared towards making the State uncomfortable for the nefarious activities of men of the under world as well as curbing the rate of robbery incidences along major highways in the State.

Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada made this known at the thanksgiving service held in honor of Dr Temitope Shinkaiye,Special Adviser Youth and Women Development who survived a robbery incident along Lokoja – Kabba road in the early hours of february 28 2013.

The Governor who was Represented at the church service by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi,says the place of security in the Socio – economic development of the State cannot be over emphasized,hence the State Government partnership with security agencies towards ensuring that people travel the State roads unmolested.

The Governor called on men of the under world to have a rethink,change for the better or run away from the State completely as the measures put in place will soon catch up with them.

The Governor called for prayers for those in leadership position who daily are on the road, traversing and crisscrossing the length and breath of the State all in an effort to offer good governance.

Wada described the survival of the Special Adviser from the robbery attack as heart warming,disclosing that her commitment and innovation in the state’s youth empowerment program,has helped in creating employment and in the smooth running of government business.

The Governor thanked God for sparing the life of the Special Adviser,described her as a star in his administration,urged her not to be deterred,but to put in her best in the attainment of the administration’s transformation agenda.
