Cristiano Ronaldo has received a record fourth Golden Shoe award after scoring 48 goals in the 2014-15 season on Tuesday.

In a ceremony, the Real Madrid star won the award after he emerged the highest goalscorer over a season in Europe with five goals ahead of rival and Bacelona forward Lionel Messi, who managed a total of 43 goals.

The former Manchester United attacker has won the award in the three straight season, twice with Real Madrid and the first before he departed from Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old could have earned himself yet another huge recognition for his individual goalscoring exploits despite his side finished without no silverware last season, when rival Messi sealed a treble.
