Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi has appealed to Nigerians to support the incoming government of General Muhammed Buhari in its quest to eradicate the country of various vices.
The ex-NFF supremo, who spoke in Kaduna on Tuesday, where he played a novelty table tennis match with the Kaduna state Governor elect, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, said the sporting sector in country would thrive if the zeal with which the incoming administration is approaching things is sustained.
Lulu was appreciative to the Kaduna state football stakeholders for putting together such a programme which was meant to usher in the new administration of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
In his statement, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai promised to build upon the successes that the state recorded in the past to empower more youths through sports.
He said Kaduna State, which produced the likes of Daniel Amokachi, Tijani Babaginda, Garba Lawal among other great players that have won laurels for the country, would consolidate on that to produce more players and empower them to ensure that they play for various great clubs in Europe.
The Governor elect, however, warned the youths to avoid any sort of indiscipline and violence as his administration would not tolerate any of such.
The Governor elect later played a novelty table tennis match with the former President of NFF Sani Lulu Abdullahi. He also played in the football match between the Kaduna state elected members and the veteran footballers from the state comprising of Ayo Ogunlana, Garba Lawal, Tijani Babaginda, Stephen Musa, Ali Nayara, Daniel Abdullahi, Shehu Dikko and Shehu Adamu among others.
