Fake News: Mamman Daura has not flown abroad for Covid-19 treatment – Balele Kurfi

A close friend of foremost Journalist and nephew to President Mohammad Buhari Mamman Daura, Alh. Aminu Balele Kurfi has debunked the news that the elder statesman was flown abroad for an urgent medical treatment.

A furious Balele Kurfi told newsmen that the report which was credited to an online medium Sahara Reporters is fake news by those whom he said were in the habit of spreading unsubstantiated reports against the government and those seen to be close to the government.

He narrated that he was with Daura all through to the airport and wondered where the sahara Reporters got the information that he was sick with signs and symptoms of Covid-19.

According to him “Mamman Daura as a citizen of Nigeria has every right to seek medical treatment anywhere he likes, so being a close person to the President does not make him a government official, he is a free man. He said.

He queried that for any person to be flown abroad for urgent treatment during this period of Covid-19, such a person must be flown by an air ambulance and must also be Covid-19- free to be accepted in any foreign country.

Alh. Balele cautioned the news medium to always verify its news contents before going to press warning that such baseless news is capable of causing disaffection amongst Nigerians as well as undue heating up the polity.

He concluded that if Mamman Daura had exhibited such symptoms as erroneous reported , several personalities who were with him recently which included himself and some Governors could have shown signs of such symptoms .
