Federation Cup: We are not scared of Enyimba –Osho

Lagos based Remo Stars coach, Fatai Osho has said his side will not be intimidated by the resounding profile of their round of 32 Federation Cup opponents, Enyimba FC of Aba.

The Nigeria National League (NNL) promotion chasing side will square up against the two-time African champions on Wednesday at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja for a foot in the last 16 of the annual football competition.

Osho said his wards are already fired up by the sheer strength and intimidating achievements of their opponents rather than being discouraged. “Any day any time an encounter against the two-African champions and six-time Nigerian champions, Enyimba will surely be a tough hurdle.

“However, my youthful players are excited and motivated by the mere fact that they’re paired against Enyimba. “Surprisingly, they’re eager and anxiously waiting for the matchday to rub shoulders with the established players the opponents are most likely to parade in the tie.

“The players are ambitious and want to be on the continent, so they see the Federation Cup as the shortest route towards realising their lofty dream. “They’ve vowed to stop Enyimba to progress to the round of 16.

“We’re further motivated going into the crunch game by the lush artificial pitch of Lokoja Stadium. “The astro turf of the pitch suits our style of play and my wards are at their best on a good ground. “So we’re confident to edge out Enyimba, it will be a tough contest but surely we’ll prevail at the end of the day,” said Remo Stars gaffer.
