Ogunbote in a chat with Goal said he resigned his appointment with the Blue Angels owing to personal reasons and was glad to take up the challenge of reviving the dwindling fortunes of the Oluyole Warriors who are sitting at the base of the Nigeria Premier League.

He said it was a tough decision for him leaving Sharks but had no option than to quit after several attacks on his life by some sections of the fans and other issues that transpired thereafter.

“Yes, I have left Sharks. I actually resigned on Wednesday and I am already in Ibadan to resume work with 3SC,” Ogunbote confirmed to Goal.

“It was a tough decision for me but I had to do so for my career and safety of my life. After fans’ attack, I did a lot of thinking but I was prevailed upon to remain in the club by the management led by the General Manager, Okey Kpalukwu and the former Commissioner for Sports, Fred Igwe. I owe them a lot. The players I am leaving behind too are the most dedicated set of players I have worked with.

“I know 3SC are last on the league table and it is part of the reasons I was employed. My immediate task is to get to know my players and for the work to start immediately,” he continued.

“I will be overseeing my first training session with the team on Thursday and I hope to have a good working relationship in Ibadan just like I did at the other places I had worked before now.
