Gov Wada sponsors, Kogi hosts President U-17 Natl Unity Cup

In his continued efforts and resolve to promote age-grade competitions with view of discovery talents, Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State has agreed to host and facilitate the organising of the President’s U-17 National Unity Cup in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

The competition to be staged in Lokoja, Kogi State is scheduled to take place on December 6 through to December 12, 2013.

According to Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), who are the organisers in a statement signed by the President, Dr. Nasiru Gawuna advised registered teams of purely U-17 age-grade to arrive Lokoja on Friday, December 6th, 2013.

The statement conveyed by the National Publicity Secretary, Ben Ekpo further disclosed that upon the arrival of various participating teams, YSFON officials will be on ground to recieve them.

It would be recalled that Alhaji Shehu Shagati, a one-time Nigerian President donated the trophy in 1981 in honour of democractic Presidents in Nigeria.

Bayelsa state are the defending champions of the President’s Unity Cup.
