Kogi APC officers shun Prince Abubakar Audu’s governorship rally

A bid for two-time former Kogi governor Prince Abubaker Audu to return to Lugard House as the APC governorship candidate in this year’s election suffer a mild setback as party chieftains and stalwarts shun a rally organised by some unidentified Kogi youths from the Eastern district of the state to endorse him.

Eye witness at Lokoja township stadium reports that no party executives at the national and state level of ruling party, APC honoured the invitations sent out to them.

In bid to get confirmations on the reasons for the officers absence, our reporter put a telephone calls to some of the party chieftains in Kogi state and the North central only to be told that the lokoja township event did not emanate from the state APC.

One of the party chieftain in the state and strong members of the party who spoke to our reporter on anonymity, said: “we are part of such illicit arrangement count us out”.

Another eye witness at the rally revealed that no prominent Kogi politicians was seen at the gathering.

“The youths that came were from Ofu and Igalamela/Odolu and no youths from central and Western flanks of the state”.

One the youth who spoke anonymously to our reporter said, “i’m from Ofu I was paid to come to lokoja to witnessed this occasion am sure of daily bread today when I get back home.”
