#KogiGovRace: Capt Wada nominated for ‘Governor of the Year’ award

The Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada has been nominated for this year’s edition of the prestigious Hall of Grace, HOG awards as the Governor of the year.

A letter of nomination signed by the Managing Custudian of the award, Mr. Rupert Ojenuwa, says the nomination is based on the Governor’s achievements especially in the area of agriculture.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Mr. Jacob Edi. The conferment ceremony comes up 4 pm on Sunday, 9th August 2015 at the Summit Center, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos.

The Grand Custodian of the awards and former Minister of Information, Dr. Alex Akinyele in a congratulatory message to the Governor commended his transformation programs in the state.

The nomination letter added that Capt. Wada’s works in Kogi State are priceless and worthy of celebration, thus the nomination for the award.

Other awardees include the immediate past minister of agriculture and President-elect African Development Bank, AfDB Dr. Akinwumi Adeshina, former governors Otunba Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso of Kano State.

The Governor has since confirmed his acceptance of the nomination and thanked organizers of the award. He opined that the honour will ginger him to more selfless service for the state and humanity.
