Lokoja Residents urge Kogi Govt to build more public toilets

Residents of Kabawa and Adankolo area of Lokoja has urged the State Government to help in building more public toilets in separate interviews with the leaders of the communities in Lokoja on Thursday.

Mr Yunisa Amaotu,the leader of Kabawa community said the call became imperative following the steps being taken by the state government on environmental issues.

He said if the State Government can provide for newly Built public toilets it would help in reducing public defecation in the state.

Amaotu,said that there were still many issues on public defeacation which needs immediate sanctions and actions on offenders.

Mr Rinde adeyemo,who is the leader of the Adankolo area,said there was need for public toilets in the area because there were cases of open defeacation.

He urged the state ministry of environment to look into it and build new toilets for the public.

Adeyemo, noted that Lokoja must be kept clean at all times,said there should be provisions for waste bin in all the areas.

Mrs Seun Oke,a resident said the state should buy more waste bin to reduce dirt from the streets of Lokoja.

Mr Jamiu Abubakar,commended the Kogi Ministry of Environment in its quest to reduce sanitation issues in the state capital.

He urged government to help buy more waste bin for easy disposal of waste in the state.

Mr Momoh Jamiu,said the state government was working assiduously to make Kogi a dirt free state.

He called on the people living in those areas to be law abiding and they should always obey sanitation laws.
