Milo Basketball: Lagos, Delta win At Adamawa, Kogi Expense in Asaba

Hosts Osadenis Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Delta State, defeated General Murtala Muhammad College, Adamawa, 53-26 in a Group A game at the indoor hall of the Asaba stadium on Tuesday to begin the final phase of the 18th Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship on a fine note.

In the girls’ category, Wesley Girls Senior Secondary School, Lagos, also started the final phase on a winning note, beating Government Secondary School, Gboko, Benue State, 37-27 in a Group B match.

The Gboko team led in the first three quarters: 7-3, 15-10 and 21-20 but the Lagos girls pulled off a surprise victory in the final quarter to brighten their chances of winning the event.

Defending champions in the girls category, St.Jude Girls Secondary School, Amarata, Bayelsa State, began their title defence on a bright note in Group A, after defeating Harmony Secondary School Lokoja, Kogi State, 40-6 in the opening match.
