Nigeria U20 women coach Christopher Danjuma has assured that his team will be fully ready for next month’s FIFA World Cup qualifier clash with Tanzania clash next month.

Danjuma was recently appointed the Falconets coach, replacing Peter Dedevbo who failed to lead the team beyond the group phase in Papua New Guinea in 2016.

And the Nasarawa Amazon gaffer has vowed to surpass the achievements of his predecessors at the 2018 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup in France and also build future Super Falcons stars.

“I feel excited, elated and called to duty being given the appointment to coach the Falconets,” Danjuma told Goal.

“The team [Nigeria U20 women] had a level they’ve reached before and the challenge now is for us to have over what they have ever point or standard they have kept.

“It is a promising team that everyone has been looking at tomorrow to take over the Super Falcons in the nearest future.

“There is no worries getting ready for the match [against Tanzania] next month. I’ve gotten most of my players down and we’ve started work already and getting everything in place and just go and work straight ahead.

“Our first training was encouraging This is not an off season – players are in season and they are coming here 40 percent fit and issues of topping whatever they have is not going to be a problem.

“What i’m setting out as goal is first, to create an atmosphere and mentality for players to see more of the future than what’s it is now. The future means whatever the players are going to do now, it is to keep them in the next four years in a permanent stage of improvement.

“Meaning the players you’re seeing in U20 this year, when you see them next year you know the player has gain a lot and getting ready for the next level.

“We need the supports of Nigerians, their positive criticisms to help us improve as a team and prayers. I believe we will surely make them proud.”
