“…Nobody Would Leave City For The Jungle…” Ekiti PDP Consolidates Fayose’s Stay

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose

The Ekiti State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has said regardless of what the All Progressives Congress does, the state governor, Ayodele Fayose won’t defect to the party.

The PDP said this in reaction to a statement by the APC in Ekiti, warning the governor that he is not wanted.

“We want to say without sounding immodest that even if APC consult oracle from now till 2018 ,Fayose will not join them because nobody would leave city for the jungle to search for mansion,” the Ekiti PDP said in the statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Jackson Adebayo.

According to it, no reasonable Nigerian will want to join the APC as it has brought the country to its knees in a short period of the APC’s performance joining it be like jumping from land into a dangerous, deep sea.

Noting that Fayose had earlier said he would never join the APC, the PDP said only a politician who deliberately wants to commit political suicide could nurse the ambition of defecting “to the dying party now”.

It added that the Ekiti governor did not possess the characteristic of APC members “whose only political strategy is propaganda”.

The PDP said rather than look for new members, the APC should focus on solving its internal crisis, which it claimed has pitched former governor in Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, against Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.
