A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Chief Alex Akinnadeju, yesterday blamed President Goodluck Jonathan for not taking proactive steps to solve the ongoing crisis within the party in the state.

Akinnadeju advised Governor Olusegun Mimiko to beg the Chairman of Global Fleet Company and PDP chieftain, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim to sheath his sword. He noted that Jonathan ought to have reconciled the two of them without allowing the matter to go to court.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had ordered Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to do anything in respect of the PDP candidates for elections in Ondo State until it rules on committal proceedings before it.

The octogenarian said, “If Mimiko is ready to listen to me, I will advise him to reconcile with Jimoh. I must tell the truth and I am sure he will listen. I still believe that something is between the two of them that they have not told us. I can handle my own son, Jimoh and he will tell me all he wants.

“The more the crisis, APC will win automatically. If PDP has no candidates, that means the party is in state of dilemma. If the court rules that we don’t have candidates that mean we are nowhere to be found.

“As far as I’m concerned, if PDP has no candidate, that is a direct entry for APC, which God will forbid. Jonathan ought to have reconciled the two of them before now. He must be honest with us. He has not said the truth. Jimoh listens to me a lot.
