Francisca Ordega’s Levante will play in the 2021 Spanish Copa de la Reina final against Asisat Oshoala’s Barcelona, after beating Ajara Nchout and Rasheedat Ajibade’s Atletico Madrid 1-0 on Thursday.

To reach the semi-final of this year’s competition, Levante had beaten Tenerife 2-1, while Atletico Madrid edged Real Sociedad 1-0 courtesy of Ajibade’s strike.

Despite her cameo appearance against Santa Teresa, Nigeria’s Ordega was left on the bench for the fifth time since her arrival from the Chinese side Shanghai Shengli in April.

On the other hand, Nigeria Ajibade who was the heroine against Sociedad started on the bench in the semi-final match, while Cameroon’s Nchout earned a starting for José Luis Sanchez’s side.

Both teams evenly saw the fair share of ball possessions in the opening first half but could not find a breakthrough until Rocio Galvez’s injury time strike sealed their progression to the final.

Nchout was in action for 65 minutes of the encounter for Atletico Madrid, while Ajibade was an unused substitute in the defeat.

On the other hand, Ordega was also an unused substitute in Levante’s injury-time triumph over her African counterparts.

With Levante in the final, May 30 showdown with treble chasing Barcelona will set Nigeria’s assistant captain Ordega up against her fellow national team captain Oshoala.
