Osun Names Ogunjobi “Pillar of Sports”

Chairman Prime Football Club of Oshogbo, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, yesterday added to his magnificent and ever growing honour as he was crowned the ‘Pillar of Sports’ in the State of Osun.

It will not come as a surprise to many as the former Nigeria Football Federation scribe and unheralded potential candidate for the NFF 2014, has continued to sow immensely to the development of sports in the state.

ASCOM President, Ridwan Mudashir, said Chief Ogunjobi’s track records and contributions to sports development in the State of Osun speak volume and gave him edge above other considerations. He noted that the choice of Chief Ogunjobi, was without sentiment.

A heroism honour by Association of Student Communicator of the Department of Mass Communication, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, yesterday, Ogunjobi was decorated ‘Pillar of Sports’ in a colourful and well attended ceremony at Rotundal Hall, North Campus of the institution.

Speaking with journalists after he was decorated, Skippo as he is fondly called said; “I know the enormity of the responsibilities as ‘Pillar of Sports’ of Osun State, I also know that with God and support from all sports-lovingState of Osun indigenes, we shall collectively accomplish the task of moving our sports forward.”
