Bendel Insurance bolster attack with double signing
Bendel Insurance have reinforced their attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after completing the signings of forwards Terdoo Shimagande and Joseph Godstime from Niger Tornadoes on two-year deals.
The Benin-based club confirmed the arrival of the duo as preparations gather momentum for the new campaign, with both players expected to add firepower and depth to the squad.
Shimagande joins Insurance on the back of an impressive 2025/26 season in which he scored six goals in 26 NPFL appearances, playing a key role in helping Niger Tornadoes secure a 14th-place finish with 48 points.
Despite being only 20 years old, the striker already boasts considerable top-flight experience. He began his NPFL journey with Lobi Stars before moving to Nasarawa United in 2024. A mid-season switch to Heartland FC followed during the January transfer window before he completed a permanent move to Niger Tornadoes ahead of the 2025/26 season.
His eye for goal and steady development have made him one of the league's promising young forwards, and Bendel Insurance will be hoping he can carry that form into the new season.
Godstime, meanwhile, arrives with valuable NPFL experience of his own. The 22-year-old featured in 35 matches during his time at Niger Tornadoes, contributing six goals and three assists. Although he failed to find the net in his 11 league appearances last season, his work rate, versatility, and attacking intelligence made him an important member of the Minna-based side.
With the addition of both forwards, Bendel Insurance have sent an early statement of intent as they look to build a more competitive squad capable of challenging strongly in the 2026/27 NPFL season.
