Blessing Okpe set to join Super Falcons camp ahead of Comoros clash
With 26 players already in the Super Falcons camp, Blessing Okpe is the only remaining player expected to join the team ahead of their 2028 Olympic qualifying double-header against Comoros.
Savid News can confirm that the Dnepr Mogilev forward departed her base in Belarus on Wednesday and is expected to link up with the rest of the squad on Thursday.
Okpe earned recognition during her time with Rivers Angels, where she scored the decisive penalty in the club’s 1–0 victory over Naija Ratels in the 2024 President Federation Cup final in June.
Her impressive performance throughout the competition saw her named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The forward has also played for Amed SK in Turkey and Dinamo Minsk in Belarus, while she previously represented Nigeria at U-20 level with the Falconets.
Okpe received her maiden senior Super Falcons invitation in October 2026 after a series of high-profile withdrawals from the squad, including that of Asisat Oshoala.
Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen subsequently handed the Belarus-based forward a late call-up to the team’s camp in Ijebu-Ode as preparations intensified for the two-legged 2028 Los Angeles Olympic qualifying tie against Comoros.
Her arrival will bring the Super Falcons’ camp to its full complement as Nigeria continues preparations for the crucial Olympic qualifying fixtures.
