CNS Spikers, Customs, COAS as CGC Volleyball Premier League enters Day Six
CNS Spikers recorded a convincing 3-1 victory over Kano Pillars in the men's category on Day Six of the ongoing third Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League First Phase at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Abuja.
CNS dominated the opening set 25-18 before Kano Pillars fought back to claim the second set 25-22. However, CNS regained control, winning the third and fourth sets 25-18 and 25-20 respectively to seal the encounter.
In another men's fixture, NSCDC Spikers brushed aside Sunshine Spikers in straight sets, claiming a comfortable 3-0 victory. The defending side won 25-19, 25-21 and 25-17.
UCEM also delivered an impressive performance against Offa VC, securing a commanding 3-0 win with set scores of 25-22, 25-16 and 25-19.
COAS Spikers continued their fine form with a dominant 3-0 triumph over Lifecamp VC. The Army side claimed the sets 25-17, 32-30 and 25-14.
Nigeria Correctional Service battled back from a first-set defeat to overcome Nigeria Police Force 3-1. After losing the opening set 23-25, Correctional Service responded strongly to win the next three sets 29-27, 25-21 and 25-23.
Nigeria Customs Service rounded off the men's matches with a straight-set victory over Ajase Ipo VC, winning 25-18, 25-17 and 25-22.
In the women's category, Anambra Queens showcased their superiority with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Life Camp Volleyball Club. The sets ended 25-21, 25-19 and 25-23.
NSCDC survived a spirited challenge from VIP & Partners to secure a hard-fought 3-2 win. After taking the first set 25-23, NSCDC and their opponents shared the next three sets before NSCDC sealed the decider 15-6.
Olalomi Royal Angels defeated Excelsior VC 3-0 in a competitive encounter. The winners claimed the sets 25-22, 25-13 and 25-23.
Nigeria Customs Service women also maintained their dominance, overpowering Federal Fire Service 3-0. Customs cruised to victory with scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-13.
In the final women's match of the day, COAS Spikers defeated CNS Spikers 3-1. COAS took the first set 25-22, dropped the second 18-25, but bounced back strongly to win the third and fourth sets 25-18 and 25-21, respectively.
