Favour Omenezu hails dream Super Falcons debut, vows to share experience at MK Dons
Nigeria's senior women's national team newcomer Favour Omenazu has described her first experience with Super Falcons as a dream come true, saying the opportunity to train alongside established internationals has strengthened her desire to improve as a player.
The MK Dons Women captain was among the players invited to the Super Falcons squad for their 2028 Olympic qualifying fixtures against Comoros, with Nigeria recording a commanding 7-0 aggregate victory to advance to the next round.
Reflecting on her time with the national team, Omenazu praised the quality of the players and the professional atmosphere within the squad, describing the experience as an invaluable learning opportunity.
“I thought it was absolutely amazing. The environment as a whole was absolutely elite,” she said.
“The level of players, the calibre that we had, it was just, just to be around it, I just felt like all I was doing was learning.”
The midfielder explained that the experience had already contributed to her development, despite spending only a short period with the squad during the international window.
“I felt like even coming back, I’ve grown from that experience, and it was just honestly like an absolute dream,” Omenazu stated.
The Nigerian international is now eager to apply the lessons she learnt with the Super Falcons to her club career in England, sharing her experience with her MK Dons teammates to help improve the team's overall performance.
“If anything, I want to share the experience and the levels that I’ve learnt there and bring it here so we can also lift our levels together as a team,” she explained.
Omenazu’s remarks highlight the importance of international exposure in the development of emerging players seeking to establish themselves at the highest level of women’s football.
The Super Falcons will face Morocco in the next round of African qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with the two-legged encounter expected to take place in early 2027.
As she looks forward to earning further opportunities with Nigeria, Omenazu remains focused on contributing to MK Dons Women’s collective progress.
“So I hope we can do that and go from there,” she concluded.
