Police Arrest 153 Suspects, Seize Over 13,000 Illicit Drugs in Jigawa Raids

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 153 suspects and seized 13,078 illicit drugs in a statewide operation targeting criminal hideouts and drug dens.

 

The coordinated raids, carried out across 42 police divisions, also led to the recovery of a motorcycle and ₦228,570 in cash.

 

Police spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the arrests were made for various offenses, including drug peddling and possession of prohibited substances. Items recovered included Exol and D5 tablets, Tramadol capsules, and cannabis, among others.

 

Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, lauded the operatives for their efforts and urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence to support the fight against crime and drug abuse.

 

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state, warning criminals to desist from unlawful activities or face the full wrath of the law.

 

According to the police, all suspects have been charged to court following the conclusion of investigations.
