Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, will deliver the opening address at a high-level leadership dialogue on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

 The engagement will spotlight Nigeria’s growing sports and creative industries, with discussions focused on opportunities for talent development, investment, innovation and international partnerships.

 The session is also expected to provide a platform for Nigerian stakeholders to connect with global partners, including representatives from the American sports and creative sectors.

 In his address, Dikko is expected to highlight the ongoing reset of Nigeria’s sports ecosystem under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope and Shared Prosperity agenda.

 He will also outline progress made towards harnessing the economic potential of the sports sector through the Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria’s Sports Economy (RHINSE) framework.

 The NSC chairman is expected to emphasise the opportunities available to domestic and international investors within Nigeria’s sports economy, as well as the potential for stronger global collaboration.

 The engagement comes amid efforts by the Federal Government to reposition sports beyond competition and participation, with greater emphasis on its economic, investment, entertainment and youth-development potential.

 The dialogue is expected to bring together key Nigerian stakeholders and international partners to explore practical opportunities for collaboration across sports and the creative industries.
