RE: LOWDOWN ON THE ALLEGED $12 MILLION VEHICLE PURCHASE – A DECEITFUL DOUBLE-SPEAK IN HYPER MODE……

I perused the pitiable and pathetic excuse of a defence by one of the aides of Gov. Yahaya Bello on the leaked $12 automobile purchase deal and came to the undeniable conclusion that confirms my fear that the present precarious situation of the state though contrived might actually be a reflection of the ineptitude and inherent confusion in the motley crowd of key officials of government.

Evidence abound that the present administration as indicated by the acts and utterances of prominent government functionaries is composed in the main of reactionaries who lack the wherewithal to be proactive in the performance of their duties.

For the SA on speech writing and research to call a transaction he wants Kogites to believe the government declared force majeure on a mere allegation is a record high in double speak because there never was anything doubtful about the reported transaction. In one paragraph we are made to believe this is a mere allegation by mischief makers and in another paragraph of the same press release we are told it was a deal gone sour that has been nullified.

The pertinent questions to ask are;

If there was no leakage, would a government that rates itself high on transparency have obliged Kogites with these new facts?

Was due process followed in the deal we are told is botched? As with other “deals” before this, why must the business of government be done in a padi-padi, cult-like arranged manner.

Like the vehicles procured for security agencies, was the process employed in compliance with existing laws on public procurement? Key officials of this administration must understand the difference between running a private business enterprise and governing a state.

Over time, a worrisome pattern has emerged where policy statements affecting the lives of Kogites from government is taken with a pinch of salt because Kogites are tired of promises that have been kept only in breach.

Conflicting pronouncements from key actors in government on issues is an indication of confusion in the cabinet. With the series of seminars and retreat organised so far, it is hoped that those saddled with the task of governance will up their ante and render service to the people.

Some people are used to being told it’s morning at half past noon because of pecuniary interests and if someone else dare say it’s afternoon, he/she will be tagged and call names like wailer, hater and enemy of state. I prefer a government that will tell us our real situation and tell us what can be done differently from what they are presently doing so we don’t continue to get the same bad result.

When people now give excuse for mediocrity, it gives me cause to be seriously concerned. Kogites are being fletcherize by poverty-induced hunger and ogas are pontificating. The wrapping and perfuming of poopoo (human waste) so as to make it presentable and acceptable is not working and it never will. The hailers will see nothing wrong and will continue the praise-singing but wailers will also not see anything good in the administration; the outstanding performance of some not withstanding, until something good begins to manifest not merely mouthed. Enough of double speak and twisted truths.
