Re-election hopeful Gov Wada flags off N642m Ankpa road project in Kogi

Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada has flagged off the construction the 6.5 kilometres Ankpa second phase township road at cost of N642 million.

While speaking at flag off ceremony in Ankpa, Ankpa Local Government Area of the state yesterday, Wada stated that the decision to embark on the project was in fulfillment of his campaign promises as well as to demonstrate his determination to provide good road network across the state.

He explained that out that the 6.5 kilometres road when completed would boost the socio-economic lives of the people of the area, urging them to protect the equipment of the contractor to ensure the completion of the project on schedule.

The governor therefore warned the civil engineers from the ministry of works not to compromise standard, while he enjoined the contractor against executing shoddy job.

Wada disclosed that reports reaching him indicated that there was attempt on the life of the senior special assistant of the local government, Mr. Ibrahim Abagu, warning criminal elements to steer clear from the state.

He said he had directed the commissioner of police, Mr. Samuel Ogunjemilusi to go after those behind the evil plot, promising to make the state hot for evil men.
