Super Falcons to play Mali in All Africa Games qualifier

Nigeria’s senior women national team will face Mali in the final round of qualifiers for the 2015 All African Games following the withdrawal of Gabon from the competition.

Mali were earlier scheduled to play Gabon in the first round of qualifiers the Gabonese announced a decision to boycott the matches due to unconfirmed reasons.

Interestingly, the Super Falcons have been drawn against the Malians in the qualifiers of the Women’s football tournament of the 2016 Olympic Games billed for May.

The Super Falcons resumed camp on Sunday, February 22, in preparation for their double-header against the Malians in March as well as the 2016 Olympic qualifiers in May before the Fifa Women’s World Cup in June.

Edwin Okon’s ladies will play away to Mali in the first leg of the 2015 AAG qualifying fixture on March 22 with the reverse fixture in a fortnight.
