The trail of the former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam on Wednesday at the Federal High Court, Abuja, could not hold following the no assignment of his case to any judge.

In a statement issued by the spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwajuren, on Tuesday, the agency fixed Wednesday for the arraignment of Suswam after it filed a nine-count charge against the former governor last month.

The former governor was billed to be for arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on over allegations bordering on money laundering, to the tune of N3 billion.

The anti-graft agency alleged that Suswam and his former finance commissioner, Omadachi Oklobia, diverted proceeds of the sale of shares owned by the Benue State Government and Benue Investment and property Company Limited.

The agency says the offence leveled against the former governor is punishable under Section 15 (3) of the Money Laundering (prohibition) Act of 2011 as amended in 2012.
