Tearful Salami reacts to 3SC action

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan striker, Gbolahan Salami has reacted to the decision of the club’s management to suspend him in addition to a slash in his salary.

The player, was said to have missed training, hence the decision to discipline him.

However, the former Flying Eagles forward, while responding to the development expressed shock at the action taken against him, saying that his where about was known to the coaches and top officials of the club.

A tearful Gbolahan, explained that he took permission from the coach Akeem Busari led technical crew before embarking on a trip to Abuja where he had gone to collect some vital documents.

The 3SC leading scorer in the ongoing season betrayed emotion while stating his own side of the story via a telephone chat.

”This is really shocking. I did not just disappear as being claimed by the officials. I took permission from my coaches before leaving, in fact it was the Administrative Manager, Demola Alabi who gave me the letter to embark on the trip.

”I was however, stunned when I heard the reports that I deliberately refused to turn up for training and that I have been suspended and placed on half salary. How could I have travelled without informing the authorities,” asked the former Sunshine Stars of Akure striker.

Meanwhile, the decision to make the issue public has caused a minor crisis within the board.
It was reliably gathered, that some top officials who were unaware of the development but got wind of it through the media were not happy with the turn out of things.

Tongue lashing was the order of the day with a top official reportedly lashing out at the media officer, Jubril Arowolo for sending such a report without the consent of the management board of the club.
