Super Eagles defender, Godfrey Oboabona has declared that the Super Eagles will not fall prey to any intimidation whatsoever posed by the threat of Cote D’Ivoire in Abijdan when both teams clash in the return leg for Championship of African Nations qualifier on Saturday.
Oboabona told journalists in Abuja before the team’s departure that the players have made up their minds to return from Abidjan with victory.
“We have heard they have been making noise about how they will overhaul the 4-1 deficit. But to best us, they must have to score three goals which you know is going to be impossible,” he maintained.
The Sunshine stars skipper rubbished purported threat of juju by the Ivorians, stressing that he does not believe in it and therefore won’t work on them at the return leg.
“I do not believe that juju can do us anything, except God has ordained it to happen that way. If juju works in football, why haven’t they won the nations cup let lone of the World Cup? That is why I say it does not scare us at all,” he concluded.
Nigeria few weeks back defeated Ivory Coast 4-1 in the first leg at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kaduna.
The loss for Ivory Coast means they must score three-unreplied goals against the African Champions to advance.
