2025 AWCV: Nigerian clubs rank 10th and 11th as closing ceremony approaches on Sunday

 

The two Nigerian clubs that participated in the 2025 African Women's Volleyball Club Championship, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), finished in 10th and 11th place, respectively, out of 16 teams.

 

The final match day on Sunday will determine the top four positions, while the rankings from 5th to 16th have already been established following the classification matches held on Saturday.

 

In match 52, the Police team from Rwanda defeated Nigeria Customs Service with a score of 3-1, securing the 9th position, while the host team settled for 10th place. The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) secured 11th place after a closely contested match against La Loi VLL from the Democratic Republic of Congo, which ended in a 3-2 loss, leaving La Loi VLL in 12th position.

 

In the classification match for 5th and 6th places, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) triumphed over Kenya Prisons with a decisive 3-0 victory, earning the 5th spot, while Kenya Prisons finished in 6th place.

 

In other classification results, Mayo Kani Evolution from Cameroon concluded the championship in 13th place, while Descartes took the 14th position. Additionally, Senegal's Sococim (SOC) defeated Botswana's Spiking Stars (SVV) 3-0, with SOC finishing in 15th place and SVV ending the tournament in last place at 16th.

Four matches are scheduled for today (Sunday) to determine the champions, runners-up, and the third and fourth best teams. Meanwhile, Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, is anticipated to officiate the closing ceremony.
