Ahmed Musa inspires Flying Eagles with two million Naira gift
Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has boosted the morale of Nigeria's U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, with a cash donation of ₦2 million as they continue preparations for the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship in Côte d'Ivoire.
The tournament, scheduled to hold from July 26 to August 9, will determine the WAFU B representatives for next year's Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Musa, Nigeria's most-capped international with 111 appearances, presented the donation through the team's coordinator, Alhaji Abubakar Abubakar. Beyond the financial support, the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner urged the young players to remain focused and committed as they chase continental qualification.
The former Flying Eagles star, who won the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations with Nigeria in South Africa in 2011, reminded the players that success at the youth level often lays the foundation for a successful professional career.
The two-time FIFA World Cup goalscorer also encouraged the squad to seize the opportunity and make a lasting impression on the international stage.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Flying Eagles captain Simon Habila thanked Musa for the generous gesture, assuring the former Super Eagles skipper that the players are fully committed to their preparations and determined to make Nigerians proud at the championship.
